Countdown to the Dalton Transactions 40th Anniversary!

Dalton Transactionscelebrates the publication of its 40th volume in 2011!Since itsfirst issuewas published in 1972,Dalton Transactionshas gone from strength to strength with growth in published articles of 122% over the last five years alone and an impact factor now at 4.1 – above 4 for the first time!

During 2011 we have lots of exciting events planned to celebrate…..look out for our special 40th Anniversary issue which will feature articles by Editorial and Advisory Board members ‘old and newandalso our Anniversary Perspective articles from our Editorial Board member.

We will also publish a series of Anniversary Editorials compiled by members of the inorganic and organometallic community chartingDalton Transactions‘ progress in the last 40 years.In addition,many more activities are planned so keep your eyes peeled here on theDalton TransactionsBlog 40th Anniversary Categoryfor more info throughout the year.I would like to invite everyone to provide us with your suggestions for how to celebrate the journal's anniversary – if you have an idea,why not post it as a comment on the blog?

  2. Our article on 5,5′-Dicyano-2,2′-bipyridine silver complexes (No.36) came when coordination polymers,now often refered to as MOFs were just picking up.
    Depending on the anion and the crystallization condition,the ambidentate ligand 5,5′-dicyano-4,4′-bipyridine could be made to function as a chelate and/or bridging ligand in silver metal coordination.
    So,early on we pointed to the role of anions,solvent and temperature in MOF 新利手机客户端chemistry for different structures which may be possible.
    I would like to conclude by congratulating "Dalton Transactions" to its remarkable success over the last 40 years.

    I am very pleased to see our article is amongst the top 40 articles.It is well-known that the on-going extensive interest in coordination polymers was triggered after the pioneer reports of Robson about 1990.In the early 1990,a number of groups have been devoted in the investigation of coordination polymers with 4,4'-bipyridine or it derivatives as bridging ligands.A question came to us that how we could construct a mixed-ligand coordination polymers by using very similar 4,4'-bipyridine-like ligands.To answer this question,we tried many times and were successful in the isolation of the first coordination polymer with mixed 4,4'-bipyridine/pyrazine ligands simply by judicious selection of counter ions!
